Why should I stay at the Donner Lake Village?

A Donner lake Village sits right on Donner Lake with beach and lakefront courtyard access plus outdoor BBQ grills and public lake view areas.   It is also easy to get to right off of Highway 80.

What time is Check-in/Check-out?

A Check-in is 4:00 pm and Check-out is 11:00am. Please note that during high occupancy times such as holidays, weekends, and special events our Check-in time may be 5:00 pm, please call our Front Desk the day of your arrival for up-to-date check-in information.

Do you provide early check-in or late check-out?

A We try. It all depends on the situation at the time.  Call the Front Desk to determine (530) 587-6081 ext. 5.

Can we book the room using credit card/debit card/check?

A We take credit cards, debit cards but no checks.

Do you offer shuttle service to the nearest airport or train service?

Do you provide parking facility and do we need to reserve the same?

A We have parking at Donner Lake Village. There is no need to reserve and there are no extra fees.

Do you have a business center?

A We have a Guest’ Computer available next to the Font desk and guest may print there as well.

Do you have a pool?

A No, but we have a lovely lake.

Do you have a fitness center?

A No we do not have a fitness center but we do have a sauna.

Are dogs allowed at Donner Lake Village?

A No, Donner Lake Village does not allow dogs.

Are boat rentals available at Donner Lake Village?

How far is the Donner Lake Memorial State Park?

A The Donner Lake Memorial State Park is only 3.1 miles away from Donner Lake Village.

What are the ski resorts near Donner Lake Village?

A Sugar Bowl Ski Resort is the closest at only 5 miles away. Boreal is 5.6, Northstar is 15 miles, Squaw Valley is 19 and Alpine Meadows is 18 miles.

How do I know when my room is ready? What if I want an early check-in?

A We will not know prior to your arrival date when your room will be ready.  Please give our Front Desk a call the day of your arrival so we can give you a better estimate of when the room will be ready. All rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, however should you come earlier and the room is not ready we are happy to give you access to our park and enjoy the property amenities.

How do I get a late check-out?

A Late check-outs can only be honored the day of your check-out. Please call down to our Front Desk by choosing option 0 or dialing (530)587-6081, extension 5. Typically late check-outs are only for an hour or two and later check-outs can incur an hourly charge. Unapproved late check-outs will also incur an hourly charge.

What if I need to cancel last minute due to an emergency or weather?

A We offer trip insurance through CSA to cover your needs for a late cancel. You may add  it to your reservation any-time between making your reservation and your final deposit. This insurance is detailed and a great add-on to your reservation for cancel protection. We adhere strictly to our cancellation policies and do not make exceptions for emergencies, last minute changes, or poor weather conditions.

Can I bring my kayak, where can I store it?

A Yes, you are welcome to bring your kayak. Kayaks can be moored on the inide of our dock slips. The front desk will help you with exactly where upon check-in.

How do I reserve a dock slip for my boat?

A Dock slips are $25 per day and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We have limited dock slips available. In order to reserve a dock slip you must be present on property with proper registration and insurance handy. Please make sure you have already had your boat inspected with the county.

What do I do if I am travelling with a trailer? Where can I park?

A We have a boat trailer lot across the street from Donner Lake Village. We will need your trailer license number, and your boats CF or NV at check-in.

Do you allow smoking on property?

A We have designated smoking areas, please refer to the map or call the front desk for locations.

Is the hotel air conditioned?

A No, we do not have air conditioning but we do provide fans in all rooms.

Do you have rollaway beds or cribs?

A Yes, rollaway beds and Pak ‘n Plays are available.  You can request them by calling the Front Desk at (530) 587-6081 ext. 5.  Based on availability.
