One of our all-time favorite excursions during the summer is back in full swing – an opportunity for community, but with COVID-19 safety measures in place. Treat yourself at the Truckee Farmers Market this Tuesday! Head to Truckee River Regional Park from 8am to 1pm for fresh, local, fun for the whole family! Your beloved local and regional vendors are waiting to greet you with this season's freshest produce.
Fill your Truckee Certified Farmers Market tote bag with juicy berries, seasonal veggies, locally raised meats and cheeses, and fresh fish from The Little Fish Company. Grab cherries and bake a delicious pie or make a summer salad with heirloom tomatoes the whole family will love. Stock up on olive oil, fresh breads, and yummy chocolates and indulge in a handmade shawl by Rivka Knit Designs to keep you warm on those cooler summer nights.
Because Farmers Markets are an essential service, they can stay open as long as social distancing measures are in place. Bring a face mask with you and use the hand washing stations. Take your credit or debit card and limit cash transactions. Air hugs and air high-fives are encouraged but keep socializing to a minimum to ensure all shoppers get the chance to support the hardworking farmers and vendors. One shopper per household is a good rule to keep lines moving, and any take-away food needs to be eaten at home. The Truckee Certified Farmers Market will run through October 20, 2020.
In town this week? Be sure to bring your reusable bag!
