Things to Do in Truckee, CA - Downhill Dummy Contest and Rail Jam

The ski season may almost be over at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area, but the final fling will be a party to remember! On Sunday, April 10, the mountain hosts its annual end-of-season bash, whose highlight is the traditional Downhill Dummy Contests. Teams build one-of-a-kind dummies for this one-of-a-kind event – then they push them down the hill and off a massive ski jump. Which dummy will fly the highest? Which wipeout will be the best? This year's theme is "Places Around the World," and prizes will be awarded for Best Design, Best Air, and Best Crash. But that's not all – you'll also find an exciting Boxing Match Rail Jam, live music, and specials on food and beverages throughout the day. There will also be a bounce house for the kids, and full day lift tickets will be on sale for half-day rates.

Spending the day at the Downhill Dummy Contest and Rail Jam is the perfect way to say goodbye to the ski season – and our nearby hotel is the ideal choice for your Tahoe area getaway. Our stylish condo rentals feature free Wi-Fi, microwaves, refrigerators, coffeemakers and sleeper sofas. Do you have questions about things to do in Truckee, CA?
