Stir things up and play investigative mixologist for the night at the 4th annual Science of Cocktails on Friday, January 31st! Imbibing drinks while learning makes this science class way cooler as an adult than as a kid. Every drink counts towards a great night out and a great cause as proceeds go towards environmental research to help keep Tahoe Blue.
Ticket price includes 2 drinks, appetizers, dessert and playing scientist at fun, interactive stations. Purchase tickets in advance for just $35 or pay $45 at the door and additional drinks can be purchased for $10. The event will be held from 6-8pm giving you plenty of time to finish your alcoholic science experiment and head out for dinner after.
The Science of Cocktails is hosted by The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) in Incline Village and proceeds directly support the Center and their innovative science programs. The research facility is usually only open during the day for guided tours and field trips which makes this event special as its doors will be open at night time! TERC helps keep Tahoe Blue through science education and outreach in an effort to preserve a resilient and sustainable ecosystem. The Center reaches kids in the Tahoe community with its annual student Science Expo full of fun, hands-on activities combined with science-based information. This year's Science Expo will emphasize geology, weather and astronomy to inspire interest, curiosity and active conservation!
The Center also hosts a monthly lecture series focusing on sustainable environmental stewardship with this month's lecture targeting solutions for climate change. TERC further partners with the community to provide family-friendly garden workshops which are great for learning how to grow your own fruits and vegetables and participants even leave with free plants for their gardens!
