Bring your competitive spirit to the Tahoe Donner Family Challenge this March 15! Family teams compete in a giant slalom race for prizes and a winning trophy at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort.
The name of the winning team is engraved on a trophy in the ski lodge for all to see! The combined best difference of a child in the family with the best difference of an adult in the family makes up the team component and time between first and second runs determines the winner. Prizes are up for grabs, and all children win a medal after completing two runs. It's a FREE event and starts at 12pm which gives the kids plenty of time to wake up.
Stay after the competition to enjoy runs on the uncrowded slopes. The terrain is great for beginner and intermediate levels and the gradual slopes and wide-open bowls are perfect for learning new tricks and perfecting skills. Ski lessons are available for children as young as 3 and kids 5-6 will want to join the Speedsters and Tykes programs next Winter so be sure to check them out online.
Fuel up on a tasty meal before and after the event! Breakfast Burritos at Ski Grill + Bar will help the family power through their runs, and their Grab-N-Go sandwiches and wraps make lunch quick and easy. If you're staying a few days, The Lodge Restaurant & Pub hosts Mexican night every Monday in March with drink specials on Margaritas and Mexican beers for the parents.
Come back to the resort for the Cartoon themed Closing Day bash on April 12! It's a crowd favorite, and the kids will love jumping in the bounce house.
