Picnics, Tennis, & Pickleball at West End Beach
Tennis and pickleball courts are open for family play at West End Beach Park! Hit the ball across the net playing doubles or singles and try serving underhand in pickleball - a fun mix of ping-pong and badminton. It's a great sport to get the family laughing and a memorable game to learn this summer!
Bring your picnic blanket and picnic basket and grab one of the designated 10 ft x 10 ft picnic spots. These designated spots are mapped out on the ground and ensure beach goers have fun at a safe social distance. Cool off in the water with your own watersport equipment or rent paddleboats, kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards and innertubes. Gates open at 8am, lifeguards keep swimmers safe from 10am-5pm, and park admission is just $6 per adult and $5 per child.
Sports on the Court at Regional Park
The basketball and volleyball courts are closed at West End Beach, but the courts at Regional Park are open! Get active playing sand volleyball, basketball and disc golf! Multi-use fields are also available at Riverview Sports Park! Play baseball and bocce ball with the family while soaking up the last days of summer in August.
Next Level Bike & Skate Parks
The Truckee Bike Park has something fun for everyone! Sweet flow lines, smooth pump tracks and beginner and advanced jumps make this park great for ALL skill levels. Get airborne on dirt jumps, race side-by-side on the Dual Slalom Track, test cornering on the XC Trail and practice on wooden and rock drops in the Drop Zone. This park is open from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week during the summer.
Sign the kids up for bike lessons with Next Level Bike Coaching! Watch their confidence grow while they hone fundamental skills, cornering techniques, pumping rhythms, and learn how to jump safely while hitting the big lines. These lessons build friendships and a sense of community and are available midweek and on Saturdays. Take it up a notch and book in for a private coaching lesson with one of the park certified teachers for a summer session the kids will be talking about for days to come.
The Skate Park is also open from sunrise to sunset and is free for residents and visitors. The kids will have a blast carving it up and catching air and may even meet fellow grommets. Get the family outside and off electronic devices this August. Make the last month of summer the best yet and plan a Family Fun weekend to Truckee Donner!
