For 36 years North Lake Tahoe’s Snowfest has become a beloved local favorite, a time-honored tradition to celebrate the beauty and joy of Tahoe’s epic winters. This festival is a 10-day event jam packed with all kinds of activities for the whole family. Enjoy an array of parades, parties, races and more!
As an all-inclusive event for the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee region, Snowfest incorporates the best on-snow events the area has to offer at several participating resorts: Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Diamond Peak, and Northstar-at-Tahoe.
Snowfest kicks off Thursday, March 2 at Garwoods — sip on a famous Wet Woody (it’s never too cold for one!) and listen to the live tunes of Groove Foundry. From there the festival rolls through with all kinds of fun activities: don’t miss the fireworks at Commons Beach in Tahoe City on Friday evening (March 3), get up the next day and enjoy a Saturday pancake breakfast with North Lake Tahoe firefighters, check out the Tahoe City Snowfest Parade in the afternoon, and don’t miss this year’s new event: the Inaugural Snowball Drop!
That’s just a snippet of the fun available to the young and old — from the Fat Cat Hot Wing Eating Contest to the Snow Sculpture Contest you’d be hard pressed for boredom!
But our all-time favorite? The Polar Bear Swim. Mark your calendars and get ready to freeze your buns off! To learn more visit: tahoesnowfest.com
