Unplug and Connect at Tahoe

About 1 month(s) ago by Becky Moore

In this face-paced world of constant news, work and needing to do more, it’s easy to feel anxious and overwhelmed. Now that we’ve entered into a new year, it’s the perfect time to unplug and connect with the ones we love in peaceful Truckee.

Here in Tahoe, we believe this is the perfect setting for you to escape with your family, and leave the world of social media and notifications behind. For a more restorative experience, here are some tricks to get you started.

Work Ahead

When planning your trip, make a to-do list of everything you’d like to accomplish before your vacation. Get as much done as you can, but most importantly, leave the guilt behind. You’re allowed to take a break!

Actually Unplug

Once you’re on the plane or in the car, make an effort to unplug for real. This can be achieved by turning off your phone, undoing push notifications, or logging out of your email and social accounts. Do whatever it takes to unwind fully. Your family and mental health will thank you for it.

The best way to have a successful break from technology is to plan activities that force you to leave the gadgets behind. Plan hiking trips, swimming adventures, or whatever you like to do that involves energy, but not a phone. Don’t forget to add some downtime to the list. Be sure to bring books or magazines and read them during your downtime. Need a nap? Take it! You deserve it!

Wherever your travels take you, make sure you get the break you deserve. Need a place to stay during your escape? We’re pretty biased, but we think we have the perfect spot to unplug for a while. Give us a call today!
